Earthborn Rise is a dedication to the remarkable resilience of humanity. This piece emotes the worldwide theme of desiring positive resolutions to conflicts, which are expressed through the use of multiple tonalities (including the Indian ‘bhairav’ mode) and alternating between driving and reflective passages. The addition of the djembe and udu hand drums to the percussion section, used in combination with the bhairav, and juxtaposed with the Western tonalities, pays homage to the intermingling of cultures and what can be achieved through collaboration.
