The Last Dance was the final installment in a series of similar Latin-style “old-school” street percussion pieces written for Sacramento High School (a former street, field, and indoor percussion powerhouse). The revised version, reworked a few years later for use by Fairfield High School (another powerhouse in the world of street and indoor percussion), is the version presented here.

As with the other pieces in this series, the rhythms in The Last Dance are jumpin’ and syncopated, the piece is in a straight-forward form, and the music opens up for battery section solos about midway through the piece. Share this classic street percussion piece with your ensemble!
