Dedication to the United States Armed Forces.

Anthem speaks to the sound of honor and pride in our military. The broad melodies and open chord structure tell of the courage and strength of our fighting men and women who give so much of their lives so that our lives can be free. The opening phrase and overall feel is like the dawn of a new day. The flight of woodwinds lends our imaginations to the winds of change in an unsteady world. The middle section of the piece reminds us of how fragile our lives are but that we are protected by the percussive ostinato snare telling us that our lives are free and the low brass driving our will to always stand strong. The final statement gives us hope as the opening phrase is revisited and fortified with the powerful brass weaving melody and counter melody and the woodwinds descant in a flurry of notes. The final blasting note should ring in liberating triumph of the freedom that our military provides us.
